So, apparently the signal from our home to ADT stopped working. In other words, we were paying a monthly fee to a company that knew their product had stopped doing what we paid for.

When we discovered this and called ADT, they noted "yes, it appears the system has been down for months". So, of course we requested a repair and a refund for the time the system had not worked. The repair....took months. I think they go out of their way to be incompetent.

For instance, the repair crew came - only to discover the part they needed was not on their truck. So, they ordered the part. Check one- a half day missed from work. Next repair crew came with the right part, but had no idea how to install it.

Check two. Called ADT and spoke with manager after manager, finally received a refund for the months the system was down, and yes, after three tries, technicians came with a part (mind you, this was a part described as "standard and on every truck" by ADT), so missed one and a half work days working with these idiots.

Go with SimpliSafe. ADT is a lost cause.

We had a similar issue with ADT. We discovered a problem and they said no issue - we will come and fix it.

Then they scheduled a visit and did not show. We called (both of us work and took off to be here for them....). The rep stated she was sorry and did not know why Customer Service had not "successfully" scheduled a tech visit. Ok.

So we scheduled another visit. And....they came without the parts we needed.

How does this company stay in business? And - who is running ADT - Donald Duck?
