short in panel wiring installed in or around 2008 resulted in false alarms in 2018 after monitoring service was discontinued. Contacted ADT customer service for assistance March of 2018.
Amber informed me that ADT would not be able to assist in resolving the problem because ADT no longer monitored the system. She suggested that we disconnect the system from the electrical supply. ADT wired the system directly into the electrical wiring and the system can only be disconnected from the electrical supply by disabling a circuit breaker, which results in lighting in bathroom, kitchenette, and other areas being disabled and rendering those areas of my home unusable. Additionally, various features of the ADT system I paid for are no longer available for use, including chime alerts for entry zone violations.
It is clear that ADT's basic wiring of its equipment panels is not durable or reliable.
Further, ADT is not interested in standing behind its' products unless consumers agree to continue feeding ADT's corporate greed for unwanted or unnecessary services. Consumers need to be aware of the inconvenience of purchasing ADT products because they lack durability and ADT's policy of refusing to stand behind basic wiring of its equipment panels installed by ADT personnel or contractors by having after market technical support available for purchase related to ADT faulty equipment.
