I called to cancel my services with ADT recently. I was told that my agreement was for 3 years.
I said that it was for 1 year as I have an addendum, signed by their sales rep, to prove it. They said that it was never submitted, and if I wanted to cancel, I would incur charges. Dishonest and unprofessional, I tell you. Customer service rep or customer retention rep would not budge.
Said he was even in a managerial position. I told him that instead of denying what I have, he should be asking me to povide a copy instead. I told him that I have the same issue in 2014, and I faxed something in. When he finally look, lo and behold, it was there.
He said he would cancel my service with no charges. Never using them again. It's aggravating.
By the way, I did learn something interesting, if you threaten to cancel your service, they will offer you $10 off your bill and 2 months free! What a joke!
