We have spent the last 12 years paying ADT monthly for resident security service. About 10 yrs ago we eliminated our landline phone and went to all cell phone use.

It has recently come to our attention that ADT has been charging us for the past 10 years monthly for fire, police, and home security but has been providing NO service or protection to our home because we didn't have a landline phone. ADT never notified us but continued to charge us. When we found out we were paying for service but receiving no service we contacted ADT.

They now want to charge us $159.00 to install their cellguard plus increase our monthly fee an additional $10.00 ( to receive ADT service without a landline phone). Avoid this UNETHICAL COMPANY that will continue to charge customers monthly while they are providing no service!!!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

How would they know you cancelled your home phone line? Isn't that your responsibility to contact the security company and inform them that you were doing so?
