Don't ever get ADT home security if you might move! What they don't tell you when you sign the contract is that it's a 3 year deal.

So today when I called to cancel because I'm moving, I was told I had to pay $500 cancellation fee! The only way not to be chareged that is to get ADT at my new place or somehow get the new owner to change the contract to their name. WORST Customer Service EVER!!!! They won't do anything to help!

Totally Absurd!!! I guess they don't want old customers to ever come back!

Monetary Loss: $500.

When I signed up with Brinks almost 3 years ago the salesman told me if I move that is the end of the contract because they count on the fact that people will pick up the service when they move in to the old house because the equipment is still there. In the move I can't find my contract either but I distinctly remember that conversation.

ADT's comment was "ABSOLUTELY NOT" when I called to disconnect. ADT is by far THE WORST company I've ever dealt with.
