Verified Reviewer | Gulfport, MississippiADT solar refused to swap out micro inverters there company promised.
On Jun 2022 I signed a contract with ADT solar to install solar panels on my roof for fifty six thousand dollars. In august they installed my panels and I received a PDF file to sign that showed they have downgraded my inverters without my knowledge or approval.
I contantacted my sales representative and they said that the utility had not approved the ones we discussed but they will wait to finish the install until they are approved and swap them out, this is on my personal emails.
At this time they activated the solar panel loan, even though the terms state it will not activate until the full system is installed, which my system only has panels. My sales representative said they will reimburse me for the payments which I have to ask for monthly which was also on my emails, and the loan has a balloon payment due in 17 month due to federal solar rebates on taxes, which I cannot claim due to the system not being fully installed.
After a few months later I contacted my utility and they have approved the new IQ8 micro inverters for residential installation. I contacted my ADT representative and they said they would start the installation. I was contacted a week later saying there was a problem that they did not want to swap out micro inverters due to time and cost.
I explained I was promised by there representative to replace the equipment I was promised {IQ8 Inverter}.
I have been going back and forth with ADT escalation on this issue, they have been trying to gaslight me into saying that the IQ7 and IQ8s are the same. When I point out the technical differences I am met with silence.
On 01/26/2023 I was told by voice and email ADT will not honor their representative verbal and email contract to replace the Micro inverters.

Account started I. 2012 and closed more than a decade ago
My account was long ago closed and I found that just by reading my bank statements that they were still taking money out of my account every month. So when I filed a dispute with my bank and stopped it.
Later, here comes a bill for $345.95 stating that I owed them money and if I did not pay that they were going to send it to a collection agency. Reminders to everyone, go buy your own cameras for security system . Because eventually in the long run, they'll screw you over finding some way to get money off of you even though your account is canceled.
Vivint is also another security company that's very much the same. Beware

Very unreliable, equipment is faulty. Customer service is a joke. Prepare for long waits on hold and disconnects. Billing practices are shady in my opinion. I kept getting billed after cancellation

The worst customer service of any company I've had any experience with. Of the 2 year contract period it only worked correctly a few months.
Called customer service multiple times and after waiting extended periods had to be walked through the same routines. Once a technician actually came out and got it working for a short time.
I finally gave up on the system but continued the payments required then spent another almost two hours just to cancel the subscription with an extremely pushy and rude customer service. I'm unhappy enough that I will no longer watch Property Brothers as long as they are associated.

The worst security company and customer service
I totally agree with you, I purchased a new home and ADT was already in the home. I allowed them to open an account for me and 2 moths in I had a problem.
I took the day off from work to have a tech come our. When the Tech didn't show up I called ADT and was told the Tech said he had something else to do. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Then they offered me another appointment a week later and I would have to take off again.
I refuses to lose another days pay. My issues have not been resolved in 4 months I wanted to cancel ant the think after paying them for 4 months I should pay an outrageous cancelation fee.
I Seeking people who might want to start a class action law suite. Anyone interested in joining?

Bad Customer Service & Bad Quality Tech
I installed an alarm on a house I rented for 1 yr and was told via ADT I could transfer my alarm equipment to my new home for $99. So when it was time to move ADT said the technology was old and I needed a new system.
So after meeting with a few a adt reps in person and on the phone ...and burning mutiples hours of my time I had to pay a large sum of money to get adt again. So when the new adt tech equipmemt was installed my alarm was able to be activated just 3 times in 4 months. The app failed 1st and then the website...now that adt has finally made it to my home to fix their issue they are trying to charge me $300 for their mistakes.
Ive spoken to 3 reps with adt trying get the $300 waived burning my important time. Its been on the phone for 1 hr as we speak...Just a heads up that adt is the thieve while trying to protect your home.
