Smoke Detector required a battery change. Upon change, all smoke detectors started to beep simultaneously. Upon inspection of the smoke detector, I noticed a white wire was loose. Concerned about a fire hazard, I called the local non-emergency fire department who indicated it did not appear to be a fire department issue as they do not "repair". He asked if I had a security system, which I do, and ask that I call them - ADT. Upon calling ADT and speaking to Nicole who, not being a technician, made me feel totally incompetent for something she, who is not a technician, new nothing about. So, she set up an appointment for me for 2-days later. Yes, I have a fire hazard and am unprotected for Fire and the best they can do is schedule an appointment. Enter, the next call to a technician, who may know what my problem is BUT can only schedule and emergency service for $299 per hour. So, I asked to speak to his manager, Guy Minto, who confirmed I needed an emergency service but now the rate is $299 for a 1/2 hour with $75 for each additional 1/2 hour. He cannot waive this as an "emergency call" because, get this, "the technicians" would be upset with him. So, I asked for his immediate supervisors name - Cory Jones of the Rochester Call Center, who I have all the intention to contact. Enter, Brenda, who after my 1-hour of calls and in-between wait periods, managed to reschedule my NON-IMPORTANT FIRE HAZARD APPOINTMENT FOR TOMORROW BETWEEN 12 AND 5PM. Yes, this is a Company, with the highest premiums. I even have an extended warranty and the service is extra for after business hours services - EVEN EMERGENCIES like a potential FIRE HAZARD". I am angry/. I am angry that a Company with so much history and previous credibility is not providing the customer service I feel I deserve?. I am seriously questioning this service and will consider either cancelling or switching my security system altogether/. I can't believe with so many people needing jobs that this Company does not have a staff on hand to provide after business hours services under the same warranty that applies during business hours, at no additional charge:. ADT - please review your policies,. You will be losing customers if you continue on this path of disservice". I can't wait to hear what happens what the ADT technician is going to tell me when he arrives tomorrow?. Stay tuned for part II to this never ending ADT fiasco. 1297d16
