ADT: This company is the absolute pits. I have been a customer since I purchased my home 9 years ago. Recently, when my home was renovated, the alarm system was dismantled. Though my ADT service was down for 4 months, I continued to pay the service fee as a
loyal customer. Upon completion of the
home renovation, I had ADT restart the service which involved some rewiring and placement of new door boxes and window alarm monitors. The alarm was up and running fine and then came the bill- over $4000. I could not understand why the charge was so high and so I asked for a breakdown of the fee. Apparently, the new equipment was $2500 but the labor charge (for about an
hour and a half of service) was $2000 with nearly $400 tax added for total of $4900. Well this added up to more than the $4000 bill. I called the ADT billing # but was told that the charges came from my local ADT service branch (Melville, NY) and I would have to call them and speak to the manager ("Chris"). I called twice, left messages, and never got a return call despite even promise from the office assistant. Then I called ADT and tried cancel the service but merely got the run around, put on hold several times (even hung up on) and transferred until finally I spoke to someone named "Adrian" who promised to speak to "Chris" at the local branch. I did receive a call back from "Adrian" who stated that "Chris" was willing to reduce the charge (which actually was a $1200 labor charge) by $647. Fine, I agreed, though still high. Two days later, on a Sunday no less, I received a call on my cell from an ADT rep demanding the $4000 payment". I refused indicating the $647 reduction that was agreed/. Well, now, a month later, I again received the same $4000 bill?. Again, I contacted ADT and spoke to "Shane" who again promised to speak with "Chris"/. "Shane" stated that I could not cancel the service until the balance is resolved,. I have yet to hear back from "Shane", now 2 days later, and I doubt that I will!. This company is run by a bunch of scheisters, out to rip folks off;. I have hired many other companys to work in my house, property, etc:. and not one charges $1200 for labor. 1296ee0
