I just had the same experience today. Stated that each time I moved, I started a new contract versus just transferring the service. Stated that I have two years of service left, informed I've had you guys for 4 years. Representative just trying to scare me into more years of service. Do not sign up with ADT. I had my alarm installed less than a month ago and had a break-in 5 days ago. My alarm was going off for 3 1/2 minutes before ADT even attempted to contact me and for 5 minutes before they called the police. It took 6 calls to get someone who wasnt a smart-*** punk. They promised a lot which wasn't honored on installation day, and their free security system cost $400. The installer didnt even have the yard signage, nevermind the $200 in gift cards I was promised, and the monthly monitoring went from $36.99 to $54.99. I would NEVER recommend adt! Add comment

Protect your home ran my credit and charged my checking account 104 dollars without my permission. I had ADT many years ago and was happy with them. When our CCard # changed and they couldn't post a payment -instead of contacting us like most companies do, they added a $1 to our monthly bill for non-payment and made continued payment for new invoice on our new C Card #. I owned a business . I cancelled service do to closi f my shop because of the economy. So when i called up to adt they ssid oh we havd no contract on on you. Ill gax one for you to to sign. I said ya no way. I get a final bill sent to my house fot 1500 for the payment of the contact. I would never dign a 3 year contract. The sale rep who no longer works thete never gave me one. I signed a business contract with ADT securities and wrote down (in the contract) my cell phone as emergency contact. Everything was fine, till I was informed by the city police that they will not respond to alarms of my business locations any more because of too many false alarms. Wow ... We were unaware that a carpenter was needed to drill a deeper hole in front door for keyless dead bolt. Installer was rude said it was up to us to have known. He was prepared to do his set up only and leave us stranded. Salesman unavailable. Pushed back, heated discussion, finally... I've been a ADT customer for over 10 years. Recently one of my window censors got wet from condensation and stopped working, so my alarm system beeps every 30 seconds. My brother put ADT Alarm Services on my elderly Mother's home. My Mother became incompetent and had to be put in a nursing home. The house was subsequently sold to an outside party. My brother must continue to pay ADT. This is totally unjust and seems like Gestapo tactics to me.
