This all started a couple nights ago at home. Someone knocked on my door and as a personal safety precaution, I do NOT open the door unless I am expecting guests. So after several knocks, I asked "who is it?" and they identified themselves as an ADT rep. I told them we are renters but the owners have an ADT system. Charged us 38 dollars for next month after service disconnected at our request. Says it's their policy although not stated at time of disconnect. Representative said they would reimburse our account. When it didn't happen I called and second representative said no reimbursement. Says it's their policy with no explanation why. Unethical to charge past services. Add comment

Wife got ADT home security. All in her name.Auto payments from her own checking account.Wife passed away October 2015. On advice of our attorney account frozen then closed. ADT couldn't draw on it and sent letter. Called them 1-800-522-2455 and informed of death. Said to mail copy of Death Certificate. Mailed to there payment address in Texas. ADT came out 1/23/2016. I asked if any additional charges and kept getting blown.Then at the end 2800.00 plus the monthly charges. Ask the tech how long battery's would last and about false alarms, as police charge, He stated 5 years on battery and no false alarms.He hustled me as he was late for another job and told me to initial and sign the contract not letting me see it only where to sign... My bill was not due at the time of payment and was not past due either. So? when I made my payment a bit early a couple days later they hit me again! They have done this before! When you call they tell you its your fault! And it will take 10 days to give you credit! On a debit card? God people! About to *** the whole system and ship it! Moved to an apartment while waiting for residential home purchase. ADT refused to freeze account until we could use the service. Misleading info given by representative when contract was signed. We paid $50 plus monthly for a service of which we could not use along with all the set up fees at initial installment. I had been with ADT since 2010. I decided to change to another company. When I called to cancel my system they said I owed $136.00. I knew I owed it so not a problem. I said I would pay it with my next check. The very next day they started calling wanting their money. I am disabled so I get paid once a month. They have tried to worry the *** outa me.
