WHO PROTECTS THE CUSTOMERS from ADT?  Be careful when cancelling the existing ADT account at the current location. They will convince ALL that they are doing EVERYONE a favor by waiving the balance of the old account by encouraging ALL to start over with a new contract at the new location. In mid-July 2016 I placed a new order with ADT for a home alarm system and was told that the technician would be at my home for assessment and/or install between 8 am and 9 am the very next day,so I planned my day around the schedule I was given. Been with the company for many years. Lost my job so I contacted them to cancel my service because I couldn't afford to even pay my rent. The representatives response was if I cancel they was going to charge me an additional $900 so it would be to my best interest to keep the service. Of course she heard that I no longer had a JOB !! Horrible service when cancelling the service! I will never use ADT again.

All we were interested in was an alarm system with surveillance cameras. I was told the the cameras that went outside would melt in the AZ heat and that the inside cameras would be best. I canceled serviced within 5 days of starting services. I was told that I would not received a cancelation fee. On the next day, I received an email that I was being charged the termination fee. When I called customer service and explain why I was calling, I was asked to explain the question 3 and 4 times to the same person. They are the worse in the industry poor service not knowledgeable not helpful expensive avoid them if you can.

This is the worst company. They lie to you about contracts. If you move they start your so called contract over again. If you want to speak to a manager they will flat out tell you no. I have never dealt with a company as horrible as this one.

I cancelled originally over 2 years ago. I don't check my bank statement as much as I should. I have had to call in at least 3 times because I have found automatic payments going to ADT. Again they state I will receive a credit to backdate and a letter stating the cancellation. We'll see! They were useless when I used them and useless after cancelling!! ADT provides poor overall services and negligence. Their equipment has issues and their response time to an actual burglary can be in excess of an hour or more. I would never recommend ADT to anyone who is trying to protect their home or business. I am disappointed in this company and regret ever signing up with ADT.
